Acrylic Paints
Acrylic paints for bold strokes and fine details
A first painting on canvas, a painted rock or a wooden box with your own design. Acrylic paints open the door to painting and decorating — simply choose a paint suitable for your surface and start creating. Build areas of color, layer shades and try working with a brush or palette knife according to the consistency of the paint.
At Krajinka, you will find acrylic paint sets and individual colors from brands such as Royal Talens Amsterdam, Marabu, Cadence, Artmagico and Primo. Alongside a basic palette, discover soft pastels, metallic shades and vivid neon colors.
Choose a smaller set to try, replace a frequently used shade or pick a larger pack for a more extensive project. Whether you paint for pleasure or are developing your own artistic style, start with an idea you want to bring to life in color.

How to choose acrylic paints for your project
Choose your surface first
For canvas, paper, wood or rocks, choose a paint according to the manufacturer’s intended use. The surface should be clean, dry and suitably prepared; some surfaces require a primer. For fabric, glass or glazed ceramics, check whether the paint is intended for that material and how it should be fixed, if required.
Opacity and consistency can vary
Not every shade covers a surface in the same way. Some paints are opaque, while others are translucent or transparent. Check the packaging or product description. A thicker consistency may suit expressive strokes and palette-knife work, while a more fluid paint may suit fine details and smoother application.
Start with a set, then add individual colors
A clearly arranged set of basic shades helps you explore color mixing. Individual tubes or bottles let you replace frequently used white, a favorite color or larger quantities for backgrounds. When combining different ranges, check that they are compatible.
Allow for drying
Before drying, standard water-based acrylic paints can be thinned with water or a suitable acrylic medium according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Add these gradually so that the paint retains the properties you need. A dried layer generally cannot be reactivated like watercolor. Clean brushes and tools as you work, while the paint is still wet.
Pastel, metallic and neon effects
Special shades can complement traditional paintings and decorative projects. The result depends on the surface color, the number of layers and the lighting. With UV effects, distinguish between paint that reacts under UV light and paint that glows in the dark — these are different properties that must be confirmed by the product description.
Protect the finished work according to its use
Dry to the touch does not necessarily mean fully cured. Follow the recommended drying time before further processing. Assess the need for a finishing varnish, suitability for outdoor conditions and lightfastness according to the particular paints. The term “acrylic paint” alone does not guarantee these properties.
