Polychromos pencils feature high-quality coloured pigments with exceptional brightness and colour brilliance. The 3.8 mm oil-based leads are water-resistant and medium-hard.

They layer and blend beautifully, with minimal wear during drawing, suitable for large areas as well as detailed work.

The wood is FSC-certified, and the lead is bonded with a special SV technique to prevent breakage.

The new 102-piece set is unique, containing only pencils with the highest lightfastness, marked with three stars on the pencil. This indicates colours that last up to 100 years without fading under museum conditions and normal light. Two stars = 25 years, one star = up to 5 years. According to the Blue Wool standard, this corresponds to 7–8 out of 8 possible.
